Ford is recalling more than 290,000 vehicles in the United States because the rear-view camera system may not display images properly under certain lighting conditions, which could increase the risk of an accident.
This recall covers specific 2020–2022 F-250 SD, F-350 SD, and F-450 SD models.
A report on safety recalls by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) noted that Ford analyzed customer complaints and warranty data to assess the issues. The automaker mentioned that, as of September 20, it had received 10 reports, with the first one reported on January 20, 2022.
Ford has not received any information about accidents or injuries related to this defect.

Brand dealerships will perform the software update of the image processing module on the affected vehicles at no cost.
